Fire Officer Exam 2024: Schedule & Requirements

Schedule of FOE 2024

According to the Examination Announcement No. 04, s. 2023, the schedule of the FOE 2024 is as follows:

The acceptance of applications shall be on a first-come, first-served basis and shall be closed any time before the deadline once the CSC Regional/Field Office has already reached the target number of applicants.

Requirements and Qualifications for FOE 2024

To be eligible to take the FOE 2024, you must strictly meet the following requirements and qualifications:

  • You must be a Filipino citizen;
  • You must be 21 to 35 years old at the time of filing of applications;
  • You must be a baccalaureate degree holder from a government-recognized institution;
  • You must be physically and mentally fit;
  • You must have good moral character;
  • You must not have any criminal record, conviction of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, or dismissal for cause from any civilian position in the government;
  • You must not have been dishonorably discharged from military service.

The age requirement will only apply to private individuals who will take the FOE as the age requirement is waived for incumbent employees of the BFP. The age requirement is also waived for former BFP employees, provided the BFP endorses their applications and they can meet the minimum service requirement under existing laws.

If you are a holder of the Honor Graduate Eligibility or a passer of any Bar or Board exam, you do not need to take the FOE anymore as you are already granted the civil service eligibility under RA 1080.

Application Process for FOE 2024

To apply for the FOE 2024, you need to submit the following documentary requirements either to the CSC Regional/Field Office where you intend to take the examination or through online application (depends on the announcement of each region)

  • A fully accomplished Civil Service Examination Form – CS Form No. 100 (Revised September 2016). The spaces for the signature and thumbmark should be left blank. These shall be accomplished in the presence of the CSC application processor.
  • Original and photocopy of your valid ID. The ID should contain your name, picture, signature, date of birth, and the issuing agency. Acceptable IDs include a Driver’s License, Passport, PRC License, SSS ID, GSIS ID, PhilHealth ID, Voter’s ID, BIR ID, Postal ID, Barangay ID, Company ID, School ID, Police Clearance, NBI Clearance, or any other valid ID.
  • The examination fee is Php 700.00.

Tips and Reminders for FOE 2024

Here are some tips and reminders to help you prepare for the FOE 2024:

  • Check the scope and coverage of the FOE 2024. The exam consists of 170 multiple-choice questions that cover general ability, verbal, analytical, numerical, and managerial/potential ability, as well as fire suppression, fire prevention, fire safety, and code of ethics.
  • Review the topics and concepts related to the FOE 2024 using online resources, books, or review centers. You can also take practice tests to familiarize yourself with the types of questions and the time pressure.
  • On the exam day, be at the testing venue at least one hour before the examination time. Bring your valid ID, application receipt, black ballpen, lead pencil (No. 1 or 2), and eraser. Do not bring any calculator, cellular phone, smartwatch, or any other gadget or device that may compromise the integrity of the exam.
  • Follow the instructions of the proctor and the test booklet. Shade the correct answer on the answer sheet using the lead pencil. Do not leave any item unanswered. If you are unsure of the answer, make an intelligent guess.
  • Check your answers before submitting your answer sheet. Do not make any unnecessary marks or erasures on the answer sheet as this may affect your score.
